E-Waste Drive Campaign Scholarship 2012-2013

Description:

The E-Waste Drive Campaign Scholarship is available to students ages 25 and under who are U.S. citizens. In order to qualify for this award, you must run a drive to collect e-waste, deliver the e-waste to your local Best Buy store, and fill out a report back form.

Entries will be judged based on the following criteria and percentages: 40% Quantity of E-Waste Collected (by individual or team entrants); 25% Impact on Community (written description(s) or depiction(s) of how your e-waste drive inspired and motivated peers/community and collaboration in recycling efforts and actions); 25% E-Waste Drive Plan and Promotion (how you/your team creatively planned, advertised/promoted and carried out your e-waste drive); and 10% Clarity and Organization of Entry (how clearly and logically did you/your team complete the Entry Form, story line for your e-waste drive and effectively support the story with photo depictions).

The Give A Spit Scholarship is open to students between the ages of 18 and 25 who are residents of the U.S. or Canada. All it takes to sign up for the Be The Match registry, and potentially save the life of a blood cancer patient, is a cheek swab. DoSomething.org is helping you save lives by running a Give a Spit drive on your campus. You must sign up online or text spit to 38383 and the information you need to run a drive will be provided. Everyone who signs up as a donor and texts swabbed to 38383 will be entered to win one of two $500 college scholarships.

APHA's Get Ready Scholarship: Open for submissions

To raise awareness about emergency preparedness, APHA is offering its third annual Get Ready Scholarship. The scholarship is a component of APHA’s Get Ready campaign, which works to help Americans prepare themselves, their families and their communities for all disasters and hazards, including pandemic flu, infectious disease, natural disasters and other emergencies.

Six scholarships of $500 each will be awarded:
- Two scholarships for high school seniors
- Two scholarships for college undergraduates
- Two scholarships for graduate students

Winning students will also receive a free one-year membership in APHA.

Eligibility
The Get Ready Scholarship is open to:

a) U.S. high school seniors graduating in 2011 who plan to further their education at a college, university or certified trade school
b) Currently enrolled U.S. college or university students who will be continuing their studies at the undergraduate or graduate level
c) Currently enrolled U.S. college or university graduate students who will be continuing their studies at the graduate level

Previous Get Ready Scholarship winners are not eligible.
